Removed because I think they are no longer applicable (I am using 0.7.0):

  1. Go to section "instrument" and click "edit instrument"
    I have edit instrument under my MIDI menu, but it is always grayed out. I believe this is now the "Soft synth configuration" dialog under "Settings" -> "MIDI Ports / Soft Synth"
  1. Check if the GUI LED is lit. If not, left click it and a new synthesizer GUI will pop up. (The LED just shows whether the GUI is opened for that particular synth.)
