Getting Involved
From MusE Wiki
So you want to help? Great! You don't have to be a C++ guru and you don't need to spend your lots of time. A big portion of the help we need is feedback and bug reports.
If the ideas on this page are too technical for you, no problem - here are some ideas how anyone can get involved.
What Needs To Be Done?

Report Bugs
Start by downloading a binary. Use it in your everyday's work and report bugs when you find them. Before submitting a bug report, search here to make sure your bug hasn't already been reported. If it has, then feel free to add any extra details you want to be there. Before submitting a new bug, think about that you should give use as much information as you can.
- Kernel version (2.6.6)
- MusE version (0.7)
- jackd version (...)
- everything you think could be important
Translate
We are always seaching for developers who can help us to translate the MusE interface. The handy thing is that it is very easy to do that, you just need the linguist tool, MusE working, time and some cups of really good coffee or whatever you like!

Fix Bugs
Is there some bug that really bothers you? Instead of just reporting it, feel free to fix it as well. If you know CVS, you can use that! But you could also use diff to create patch files and supply them to us over the mailing list.
To figure out how the process works, feel free to get in contact with us through our mailing lists.
When you start working on a bug be sure to let us know what you are doing. This lets others know that someone is working on the problem and helps reduce duplication of effort.
Write Documentation
We need documentation for users, web developers, and developers working on MusE. If you write your own code, document it. In the process of figuring things out, try and document your discoveries and share them with us trough the mailing lists or the wiki itself.
If you would like to write some articles, help to maintain the homepage or if you have got some artistical skills and would like to create new images feel free to do so. But before you just start creating wired things, have a short chat with the core MusE team.
Create music
We need musicans who use MusE to show that MusE is ready for creating music. But why? Oh we like music and we like it even more if we know how it was made or better with what is was made.
If you create some music you can get into our Hall_of_Fame.
If all else fails
If all else fails, as you read the news groups, status updates, and project home pages, keep an eye out for people asking for help. If you're missing an important feature but can't create it on your own you might want to supply some suggestions or comments about thing we should consider in development.
We are always looking for some idle helping hands ;-)
Have a nice time with MusE.
The MusE-Developer team.
